Improve your singing and basic music skills by studying with a private teacher who also specializes in training young voices. Jeanne Grealish is Albuquerque’s first voice teacher nationally certified (NCTM) by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the first voice teacher ever to be named TEACHER OF THE YEAR by the Professional Music Teachers of New Mexico, Inc. and to be named a Fellow by the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
Each lesson includes…
• basic vocal technique through exercises and scales; ear training.
• song repertoire.
• diction coaching and work with the International Phonetic Alphabet.
• tips and guidance on basic musicianship, theory and harmony through the pieces being studied.
Periodic master classes are held at which students are requested to perform and critique not only their own work, but that of their colleagues. These classes are conducted by the teacher (and guest coaches and teachers) and are intended to be true learning experiences where performance techniques are further developed in a relaxed atmosphere.
Public recitals are held as the level of student achievement and performance dictates.
Students are encouraged to sing in choral groups and small ensembles to further develop musical and listening skills. Studio assistance is provided.
Students are encouraged to enter competitions as readiness is achieved and if the student so desires.
